Our Story

Hello! We are so excited you are visiting us today! We know choosing a safe, loving child
development center is a big decision and one that takes time and research. My name is Kainee
Bram, and my husband, Scott, and I are the owners of My Preschool & CDC. Our journey began
when, at the age of forty-four, I realized I was pregnant with our fourth child. We have three older
children, Ryan, Erin and Lyra. There is a fourteen-year age difference between our youngest and
next to youngest. So just when we thought we were close to becoming empty nesters, here we go
starting all over again! And what a blessing our little Bodie Luke has been to us all!
I am a court reporter by trade but had also began working at our church as the children’s ministry
director over five campuses. However, once I became pregnant with Bodie, I knew I wanted my
schedule to change so I could have more time with him. I left my job at the church and started a
mother’s day out program called My Mother’s Day Out and grew it to two locations. While running
the MDO programs, a friend told me about a child care center whose owner was retiring and
STRONGLY encouraged me to check it out! Needless to say, me and the owner hit it off and here
we are today! In 2016, we purchased our first center, Alameda School and Child Care. Not long
after, in 2018, we opened our second location, South. This began the story of My Preschool & Child
Development Center.

Our Program
We believe a healthy childhood is a critical foundation for lifelong physical, mental and emotional well-being, directly shaping brain development, behavior and adult health. With this belief in mind, our program is designed to create a safe place for your child to grow, learn through play, and feel encouraged to explore and take risks. We take very seriously our role in helping give our parents a "peace of mind." We have secure coded entry, perform monthly fire drills and quarterly severe weather and intruder drills. Anyone you have listed on your child's approved pick-up list must show a photo ID. We utilize the Brightwheel App for parent communication, daily updates and tuition payments.
Our curriculum consists of monthly themes with weekly units that prioritizes social-emotional growth, such as building relationships, managing emotions, and fostering independence. A few examples are Making Choices; Experimenting; My Family/Friends/Pets; Weather; Beach Fun and Safety; and Changes In and Around Me. Our monthly themes also include the letters, shapes and colors of the month and our Bible Focus time. Our goal, for any of our preschool graduates, is that as they enter kindergarten, they will not only have grown in self-confidence and a love for learning, but they will also have accumulated many, many wonderful childhood memories to last a lifetime!

Our mission is to EMPOWER the family unit through prayer, partnership, parenting educational materials, and by providing multiple opportunities throughout the year to work on school activities and attend family-friendly events together. Our mission is to also EMBRACE each child in a Christ-centered, nurturing learning environment where they will be respected and encouraged to explore, question and learn in the way God made them.
Our mission for our early educators and administration is for everyone to feel valued, appreciated and supported in their classroom. We provide many continuing education opportunities throughout the year and work hard to cultivate a Christian atmosphere with a zero-tolerance policy for drama and negativity in the workplace.
